Every year the Christ child comes again... and causes nothing but trouble. Quarrelling families, burning Christmas trees and stressed people rushing through city centers in the run-up to Christmas in a desperate search for presents. If we're honest, during the Advent season you get the impression that Bethlehem was a branch of REWE.
And then, when everyone is exhausted from the shopping marathon, the family arrives on Christmas Eve: the single sister, the grandma with poor hearing and the bitchy godmother with her lap dog. Mom cooks like crazy and Dad is totally annoyed because the goose isn't on the plate but sitting next to him. Ideal conditions for a 'raw feast'...
Stephan Bauer's first Christmas program is the mercilessly funny answer to the apocalyptic side of Christmas - with just one aim: to ensure that there is at least one good laugh during this time.
So let's get out of the Christmas depression! Let's enjoy this festival with its wintry idyll, Christmas tree and snowflakes again - as long as climate change still allows it. Because in 50 years at the latest, Santa Claus will arrive on a surfboard!
