To mark the 100th birthday of the legendary chansonnier Charles Aznavour, Stephan Hippe, in collaboration with the Hamburg Chamber Opera, has created an impressive musical portrait of the golden era of chanson.

This homage combines Aznavour's most beautiful chansons with whimsical stories and original image and film sequences. You can expect an evening full of captivating music, surprising moments, sensuality and deep emotions.

This opulently staged theatrical biography, narrated in German, is a vivid testimony to an unforgettable era and its musical greats such as Édith Piaf and Gilbert Bécaud. Stephan Hippe has respectfully reworked all the pieces and artfully arranged them with original soundtracks, film clips and lots of music.

Hippe, who was present at his 90th birthday in Berlin, was given special permission to translate "Sa Jeunesse" into German. Unpublished memories of the Aznavour family make this multimedia production an extraordinary experience.
