STOFFEL 2026: Latin Soul Survivors
In the organizer's words:
At Günthersburgpark: Latin Jazz Soul from the '60s
The band “Latin Soul Survivors” originally formed in the late ’90s under the name Barrio Nuevo. After a few gigs, they took a long hiatus—until now. With a partially new lineup, a deep love for music, and a new name, the band is back on the road. Whether it’s Latin jazz or Latin soul, their musical inspiration stems from the late ’60s, when mambo and cha-cha-cha blended with rock ’n’ roll and swing to create boogaloo in New York. Salsa and soul rhythms, combined with jazzy harmonies and improvisations, are the defining stylistic elements of “Latin Soul Survivors.” Their jazz is definitely danceable—whether with salsa steps or freestyle—and it’s hard to stay still.
