PLAYA CANELA serves up an exotic mix of salsa, merengue, cumbia, bolero, reggae, bossa nova, and Latin pop.
PLAYA CANELA was founded in 2020 by singer Sandra Milena, who grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, and Rheingau-based guitarist Lutz Lehmler. In the summer of 2021, Alberto Martinez from Barranquilla, Colombia, joined the band as a permanent member on percussion, and this is the current lineup:
Sandra Milena – vocals
Alberto Martinez – Percussion, backing vocals
Lutz Lehmler – guitars, backing tracks, and backing vocals
The band captivates its audience with music from Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic. Music full of warmth and joie de vivre—authentic and contemporary—perfect for dreaming, celebrating, and dancing.
