Jörg Melchert (guitar, vocals, effects) and Roland Kremer (reading, vocals, trumpet, keys etc.) bring the mood and characters from John Steinbeck's "Street of Oil Sardines" back to life as text markers and sound colorists. The story about the biologist Doc and likeable losers like Mac and his boys from the 1920s is read in excerpts by Kremer, while Melchert provides the soundtrack with his guitar. Enriched with songs by American songwriters such as Bob Dylan and Neil Young, an atmospheric picture of the early industrial era in Montgomery emerges that is not lacking in humanity and humor.
