On Sunday, January 25, the art and fashion festival strike a pose will be a guest at Düsseldorf's Salon des Amateurs club. The "strike a pose Impulse" format opens up a temporary space for new artistic positions, experimental formats and discussions at the interfaces of art, fashion and contemporary culture.

Under the title "Common Taste", strike a pose Impulse brings together contemporary art positions and explores new forms of community building in the context of food culture, textile techniques and artisanal practices. Selected artistic works will be used to discuss food and handicrafts as artistic materials, performative actions and social processes.

For one day, the Salon des Amateurs will thus become an open space for exchange, aesthetic experiments and shared experiences - between talk, performance and shared food.

When fashion increasingly functions via experiences, campaigns and social spaces, food appears as a connecting medium. Food becomes a language through which belonging and desire are negotiated. The central question is why communal activities such as supper clubs, collective cooking or handicrafts are currently experiencing a new relevance: as social meeting places, as places of exchange - and as a conscious alternative to isolation, digitalization and acceleration.

In a cross-genre staging of different artists, designers and curators, multidisciplinary positions, performances and artist talks at "strike ---- a pose Impulse: Common Taste" open up perspectives on how nourishing collectives are - and why taste is more than a question of the individual. The focus is not on the individual work, but on collective action, the sharing of time, knowledge and experience. In this way, "Common Taste" becomes a space in which collective practices become visible - as aesthetic, social and cultural processes that make community tangible.
