When music begins to flow
A contemporary and deeply personal vision of a fusion of different genres - swing, traditional jazz, blues and classical music: this is how guitarist Duved Dunayevsky and violinist Federico Zaltron describe their music. The two jazz musicians present their program String Duets of Love in the Silbersaal.
The first meeting between Duved Dunayevsky and Federico Zaltron took place around eight years ago in Paris. From the very beginning, the two musicians realized that they had a truly unique musical connection. Today, they are increasingly aware of the exceptional nature of this musical relationship. Their shared respect for classical and jazz musical traditions and their common musical aesthetic allow them to spontaneously create music that constantly flows intuitively and surprises both the audience and the musicians themselves.
While Duved Dunayevsky is considered the world's leading expert on the style of Django Reinhardt from the 1930s, Federico Zaltron is one of the most active and recognized jazz violinists on the European swing and traditional jazz scene. Improvisations and variations on motifs from the jazz repertoire of the early 20th century form the basis for the concert, as do melodies that were heard on the radio, in musicals and in dance halls in the 1920s and 1930s. In this concert, these motifs are deconstructed, varied and serve as the basis for completely spontaneous improvisations.
