Roland Kaiser is one of Germany's best-known pop singers. He made his breakthrough in 1980 with "Santa Maria" and has since sold over 90 million records. Kaiser has also been socially and politically active time and again, for example with appearances at anti-Pegida demonstrations. He is a member of the SPD and has also publicly supported the party in election campaigns.
