The Viennese ensemble Studio Dan continues its collaboration with Ingrid Laubrock, winner of the German Jazz Award 2025.

The New York-based saxophonist and composer is one of the most innovative voices of a generation that sees jazz, improvisation and contemporary music not as separate worlds, but as an open field. In 2023, Laubrock wrote the piece Zones 1+2 for Studio Dan. This successful collaboration was the start of an intensive artistic partnership. A new work is being created for 2026, which will be premiered and recorded together with Laubrock and percussionist Tom Rainey - one of the most distinctive improvisers of our time. Studio Dan has found a congenial partner in Ingrid Laubrock: both share the courage not to avoid friction and disruption, but to see them as a motor of artistic energy.
