In the organizer's words:
"The most beautiful song in the world and other lies"
Hamburg premiere
The Berlin singer-songwriter Sven van Thom, now at home in the Hessian Pampa, has recorded his musically most varied and thematically most multi-layered record with "Ins Gras", about which Rolling Stone writes: "Clever, funny, touching pop with a love of detail." His songs are both entertaining and socially critical, political and private, unsparing and empathetic.
His songs have always teetered between extremes - from touching melancholy, for example when he sings his "Song for your broken heart", to unconditional silliness as soon as he denounces his physical decline in "Staubsaugerarm" or "Wütend auf junge Menschen". In other words: Sven van Thom puts his finger in the wound and hands over the soothing plaster right afterwards.
The multi-instrumentalist landed a top 10 hit 25 years ago with his former band Sofaplanet, and Die Ärzte invited his Sixties homage band Beatplanet to open for them. For years, van Thom has had a weekly radio column on radioeins (rbb), he also composes film music and writes texts, including for the Hamburg music theater composer Martin Lingnau. In the meantime, he has also won the German Children's Song Prize! With his solo program "The most beautiful song in the world and other lies", van Thom invites you to an entertaining concert evening between picnic blanket and shroud.
