The Mystery of Bulgarian Polyphony
Even in the first editions of the festival, Bulgaria's traditional voices were among the most fascinating to be heard in a cappella. In addition to the country's world-famous women's ensembles and choirs, since 2009 there has also been a men's ensemble, the Svetoglas Quartet, which represents the songs of Bulgaria in the best possible way. With a broad repertoire that covers the different styles and accents of this vocal folk tradition, the group has already performed all over the world. We are now looking forward to their guest performance in Leipzig, where we can get to know both the folk songs and the Orthodox vocal music of their homeland with its very unique sounds and the group's personal approach!
