"You enter an empty department store. In front of you is a shopping cart. The fog is so thick that you can only make out shadows and lights at the end of the room. You push the trolley past empty aisles - memories of your last shopping trip. Suddenly you hear a voice from the trolley. A blue light comes on, a violin melody sounds from the distance. You move towards it."
In our immersive concert, people from different walks of life come together. The supermarket - a seemingly everyday place - becomes a stage for encounters, observation and projection.
The shopping carts become an interactive element and can be used by the audience to create their own "Symphony of a shopping cart".
This symphony consists of electronic and acoustic music: Myelene Kroon interweaves her electronic compositions with the baroque music of the Furore Ensemble - creating a unique sound language that revitalizes the abandoned department store.
