We love synthesizers. And string instruments. And even more: the combination of both! That's why we've developed Synths & Strings, which highlights various aspects and interfaces of synthesizers and strings, makes them audible and conveys current music-making. PULSE invites you on an excursion into the sound laboratory: granular delays, sound synthesis, sawtooth oscillations, filtered spectra, ring modulators, harmonies enriched with shimmering octaves. A search for sonic overlaps with analog synths: PULSE thus becomes a human-played sequencer, a string quartet augmented with synths and effect pedals. In Judd Greenstein's Octet 1979, PULSE then grew into an octet with Korg Polysix, MOOG, Yamaha and Roland Juno. All of this takes place in a stage design modeled on a laboratory.
