Tacheles: Ritual & Rebellion #3 – Konzert: Shaul Dahan (Jerusalem) + Shchok (München)

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

In the third issue (halfway through!), Shaul Dahan and Shchok bring together two artistic perspectives that view sound as a space for memory, rupture, transformation, and the experimental present.

Shaul Dahan (Jerusalem) grew up in a closed ultra-Orthodox community in Bnei Brak and, as a sound artist and DJ, now engages with the texts, prayers, and rituals that shaped him. His music blends ambient, noise, new electronic music, and experimental folk into an intense exploration of religious experience and inner tension.

Shchok is the project of Munich-based artist Maria Margolina. Her practice moves between sound and visual art, between texture, resonance, and generative patterns. Genre boundaries are deliberately left open—instead, experimental soundscapes emerge that are curious, multi-layered, and unique.

The Ritual & Rebellion series provides a space for young contemporary Jewish artists who engage with the complexity, contradictions, and current processes of transformation in Jewish life, memory, and identity.

Supported by the Alfred Toepfer Foundation F.V.S. and co-funded by tax revenues based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
