Tag der deutschen Einheit mit Skatturnier am Schauplatz Eisenbahn
In the organizer's words:
It was a common sight on the usually crowded passenger trains of the Deutsche Reichsbahn: soldiers on their way home on leave or back to the barracks would play it; traveling students would pass the time with the game; and workers would play a round of Skat on the trains after their shift! Rail travel and the game of skat are simply a perfect match, especially since both are about 200 years old.
That’s why, on October 3, the “Vier Wenzel” Skat Club and the Schauplatz Eisenbahn are hosting an open Skat tournament at the Schauplatz Eisenbahn. Our invitation is especially extended to families with children; the club’s Skat enthusiasts will offer our young guests the opportunity to learn the basics of the game and take their first independent tricks.
In addition, all skat enthusiasts are, of course, warmly welcome, and we look forward to seeing as many participants as possible (the maximum number of participants is limited to 48). The tournament will consist of two sessions, which will be scored separately. A champion will be crowned in each session: a morning champion and an afternoon champion.
By participating in the tournament, each participant receives an admission ticket to the museum and is welcome to explore it during breaks.
