Tag des offenen Denkmals NetzWERKE: Denkmale & Infrastruktur – Historische Bauten, die uns bewegen und verbinden

Coordination: Hamburg Monument Foundation, funded by the Monument Protection Office of the Ministry of Culture and Media. The format is organized nationwide by the German Foundation for Monument Protection, with whom we work closely.

The STUBNITZ, built in Stralsund in 1964, has been a listed building since 2003. She is one of the oldest technically authentic maritime vessels of this size in active seafaring. As a testimony to the flowing production of large ships in East German shipbuilding and as a contemporary witness to international fishing history, she is an industrial monument of national importance with a high source value for shipbuilding tradition and shipping history. After 25 years of GDR deep-sea fishing as a refrigerated and transport ship, the STUBNITZ was converted into a mobile art and culture ship after reunification.
