Tage aus Glas – Theaterkollektiv Pièrre.Vers

The theater collective Pièrre.Vers creates plays that explore the city’s history, such as the “Historification” series about Nazi crimes in Düsseldorf. Now they are set to stage an adaptation of Dorothee Krings’ novel “Tage aus Glas” (Days of Glass), which tells the story of the strike at the Gerresheimer glassworks in 1901. The story centers on Bille, the daughter of a worker, and Leonie, the daughter of the factory doctor, whose living conditions reflect the class divisions of the time. The story is linked to current issues of participation, ownership, and class struggles. The audience embarks on a journey through time around the grounds of the former glassworks, which today stands as an industrial wasteland caught between the past and the future.
