When Miki Kekenj is not at the Bergische Symphoniker concertmaster's desk, he devotes himself to a second artistic mission: translating modern songs into a classical musical language. For over a decade, he and his Takeover! Ensemble, he has been developing extraordinary projects that bring pop culture and chamber music together on an equal footing. In collaborations with artists such as Samy Deluxe, Stefanie Heinzmann and Max Herre, Kekenj has shown how much dramaturgical and sonic potential there is in the encounter of different musical worlds.

Now he meets JORIS again - a musician who stands for handmade, honest pop music like no other. Since his breakthrough in 2015 with the single "Herz über Kopf" and the album "Hoffnungslos Hoffnungsvoll", JORIS has been captivating audiences with his distinctive, soulful voice and songs that unfold an unmistakable intensity between indie, rock and pop. His music thrives on emotionality, directness and an organic sound aesthetic.

This is exactly where the Takeover! project comes in: Selected songs by JORIS are reimagined in arrangements created especially for chamber ensemble. Strings, piano and other classical instruments open up new perspectives on familiar melodies, reveal harmonic subtleties and lend the lyrics additional depth.

A concert evening that shows how careful arrangements, tonal transparency and artistic curiosity can create an inspiring connection - intense, immediate and surprisingly new.
