The joint archive of Katharina Sieverding and Klaus Mettig presented as part of the exhibition project - the source and material of many of their works - will now itself become the occasion and venue for a discursive program at the center of the exhibition. A six-week changing presentation will focus on thematic areas that connect their works on an overarching level. However, it will also provide space for aspects and questions of her artistic practice that have received little attention to date, including her feminist and interdisciplinary teaching of Visual Culture Studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), which has shaped many generations of students. In public discussions, workshops and talks with invited guests, the socio-political issues raised in the presentations will be explored in greater depth and expanded upon.
In the 2nd Archive Talk: Erika Balsom (scholar, critic and lecturer in film studies at King's College London), AA Bronson (artist and founding member of General Idea, Berlin) and Prof. Dr. Marc Siegel (Professor of Film Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz).
The event will be held in English.
