Unique fusion of three different worlds: Bulgarian traditional Orthodox music of the Berlin BulCanto Choir meets contemporary dance choreography and the multi-talented musician Adam Harzuf, inspired by Indian classical music.
The work "Bulcanto" led to the formation of the eponymous BulCanto project choir in 2019. With a prayer for rain as a symbol of fertility and the source of life, "Bulcanto" begins almost paganly, then segues into austere medieval monastic chants, depicting eternity and the role of tradition. Boryana Velichkova, conductor of the BulCanto choir, together with the singers will develop a cycle of songs based on this already existing composition. Adam Harzuf will develop improvisations with different instruments such as didgeridoo, singing bowls, dahola, tabla drums or shruti box, which will inspire with a sonorous, calming, natural sound and will make the two dancing bodies resound. A meditative journey begins!
