Dana Grigorcea, celebrated Swiss-Romanian author and curator of the Munich Literature Festival 2026 (April 21-30), presents her new novel: It is the 1990s in the Romanian Carpathians, the dust of socialism has not yet completely blown away. Roxana and Camil meet every summer in the small village of Busteni. She is on vacation, he lives there, on the other side, behind the station barrier.
Here they observe the couples in the village, let themselves be inspired by them, try to find out their secrets - and in doing so continue to write their own story.
