In the organizer's words:

"Irresistible Revolution" captures the exuberant atmosphere of Carnival in Buenos Aires. In her dance piece, Argentine choreographer Ayelen Parolin features a comparsa—a singing, dancing, and musical carnival troupe that is an integral part of Latin American street festivals. The movements and music of the celebratory parade become the starting point for an unpredictable interplay. The twelve dancers in the performance follow their immediate impulses, give free rein to rebellious movements, and in doing so explore new ways of being together. Drawing on writer adrienne maree brown’s concept of “Pleasure Activism,” Ayelen Parolin explores pleasure as a field of inquiry and resistance. Exuberant dances form the fertile ground for a utopia in which collective excesses sketch out the possibility of a different world.
