Winin' & liming

Wining - the circular, swinging movement of hips and pelvis - and liming - hanging out together, talking, listening to music. Both have their roots in Caribbean everyday and movement cultures and form the starting point for an open get-together at tanzhaus nrw: a space for dancing, exchanging and enjoying together.

DJ sets and shared meals combine dance with conversation, relaxed ease with reflection.

How can we be there for each other? And what role can dance play in this?

With DJ sets by DJ F-ZEE, dance sessions, tarot reading with ✨ Ray ✨ , mocktails & Trinidadian street food specialties by Beni Doubles.

Dance together!

For Dance together! Choreographies of Encounter, three international choreographers have been invited to propose new artistic approaches to the theme of encounter.

With Winin' & Liming, Malik Nashad Sharpe - choreographer and movement director - takes on the second edition, together with a group of artists, social workers and community actors from NRW - Yeliz Pazar, Marie Zoe Buchholz/ZOE, Maria Mercedes Flores Mujica, Sevi Bayraktar and Dieter Ligueros Korsholm - a space is created in which different experiences come together.

It's about community and care - and also about talking about the "shit" we go through: about uncertainty, loss and what challenges us. Between movement and exchange, we listen, talk, dance and share time together.

Come along, get involved or just be there - what emerges develops with everyone who enters the space.
