Description: Our environment constantly provides a wealth of information - we continuously perceive signals from the physical world, such as stimuli and impulses from other people. We absorb this information, process it and use it. At the same time, our own actions themselves become information that is perceived by others. In this workshop, we develop our presence and refine our perception of it. We will explore how we can make contact through our physicality, recognize signals and respond to them.

Aikido is a Japanese martial art that promotes a sense of freedom in conflict situations. Based on traditional martial arts, including sword and staff work, Aikido emphasizes harmony and creativity. At the heart of the practice is the interplay between receptivity and activity and the balance between the effortless creation and absorption of forces.

Roee Be'er lives in Munich and is a teacher of Aikido (3rd Dan) and the Feldenkrais method. He completed his Master's degree in Sports Science at the Technical University of Munich, where he researched balance control and motor learning. He trained in Aikido with Miles Kessler, Patrick Cassidy and Thor Schoo; the Feldenkrais Method with Basil Glazer and Rachel Elazar. In his work, Roee seeks structure and freedom, playfulness and lightness in movement and ways to develop new sensorimotor skills through interactions with the environment. He has worked with the Israeli dance company Vertigo and with dancers from the Batsheva Dance Company, and has been a guest teacher at the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Iwanson Contemporary Dance in Munich and Tanzfabrik Berlin.
