Technoscussion

In the organizer's words:

Technoscussion is a new series of events taking place in Cologne. The concept revolves around two main components: Techno and Discussion. "Techno" stands for the variety of electronic music genres, ranging from downtempo to house and techno. The "Discussion" part covers a wide range of socially relevant political, economic and ecological topics.

The overarching goal of Technoscussion is community development, raising awareness of socio-political issues and, of course, having fun with electronic music. The community consists of a large and growing international group of friends who are mainly, but not exclusively, based in Cologne. Therefore, most conversations and discussions are held in English.

It is important for us to emphasize that Technoscussion is a non-commercial event series. The costs, such as rent, equipment, material and the support of the participating artists and input providers are covered by donations from the event participants.

The upcoming event on 20 July 2024 will take place from 1 pm to midnight at the wonderful Pflanzstelle in Kalk, a public, self-organized and non-commercial urban garden.

The theme of the event is "Under the surface: Navigating mental health in an unjust society". Various speakers from local initiatives will be invited to share and discuss their experiences. In addition, there will be workshops in a separate space (How to get therapy & Reflect to cope).
The day will be accompanied by various DJs* spinning music from Afrobeats to Techhouse to Downtempo!

The whole event will be supported by the Technoscussion Crew, Decorations & chillout area (1kollektiv), Infrastructure & technical support (Treffpunkt Capri) and an awareness team.
