Early Music FLOW FESTIVAL
Lively concert moments with music from 1400 to 1750

For one Saturday, the Early Music FLOW FESTIVAL provides special musical moments with a variety of formats, different styles, 8 expressive musicians and a yoga teacher. The main focus of the festival is on music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque periods, which are brought to life in special concert settings.

TELEMANN IN THE TAVERNE (world premiere)

The baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann was a popular star in his day. And he was also out and about in one pub or another in his private life. He was demonstrably very fond of Polish folk music in particular and used it in numerous instrumental works. The musicians of I Zefirelli combine Telemann's music with folk melodies from Hamburg around 1720 and create a good mood with dance music, sonatas and cantatas. MR. HÄNDEL AT THE PUB

Around 1700, London was a vibrant metropolis with trade connections all over the world. The city had around 500,000 inhabitants at the time. Musical life was correspondingly colorful, extending to the courts, churches, theaters and concert halls - but also taking place in private homes, on the streets and in taverns.

In this program, Ensemble I Zefirelli explores the grey area between so-called serious music and light music, juxtaposing baroque and folk music in the best London tradition.
