Terassengespräch: „Die Schönsten Deutschen Bücher 2026“
In the organizer's words:
For 60 years, the Stiftung Buchkunst has been honoring 25 outstanding books annually in the “Most Beautiful German Books” competition for their exemplary conception, design, and production. In conjunction with the current exhibition “Seeing Words, Reading Images,” which explores the multifaceted relationships between art and writing, this year’s “Terrace Talk” will focus on how books, through their design, become powerful vehicles for conveying knowledge and stories.
The guests are Birte Kreft, executive director of the Stiftung Buchkunst, and author Oswald Egger. Together, they will present Egger’s book *Oskar Fiala und das Prinzip der kleinsten Wirkung* (Oskar Fiala and the Principle of Least Effect), which has been honored as one of the “Most Beautiful German Books.” The audience will also have the opportunity that evening to ask questions of the book’s editor, Doris Plöschberger, and its producer, Nina Knapitsch, from Suhrkamp Verlag.
