Where love falls ... The young adults Wednesday Addams and Lucas Beineke are in love. The problem: the Addams family is, shall we say, a little different from many a model family. But the Beineke family is invited into the Addams' gloomy house, where the Addams' world, with its penchant for the outlandish and morbid, collides with the Beinekes' bourgeois family world. And there's something else: Father Gomez promises Wednesday not to tell her mother about Lucas' and her marriage plans. But Gomez can't lie to his beloved Morticia, and so more than just this one secret is revealed. A perfectly normal evening ...

The famous cartoon drawings by Charles Addams featuring the characters of the Addams Family caricatured the conservative American family from the 1930s onwards. They were later taken up and adapted for several series, film adaptations and, in 2009, for the musical by Andrew Lippa. Most recently, the Netflix series "Wednesday" with actress Jenna Ortega's bizarre dance caused a sensation. As our MuKo audience loves both humorous and horror musicals such as "Sweeney Todd" or "Jekyll & Hyde", it's high time we invited the Addams family with their wonderful characters and songs to Leipzig!
