The solo antifolk-folkpunk-songwriter project by Jan Bratenstein from Nuremberg offers unpolished, razor-sharp, to the point, English-language song miniatures full of wry humor and bitterly evil observations of the world.

THE BLACK ELEPHANT BAND a.k.a. Jan Bratenstein is an all-round talent:
- over 1400 concerts in various countries under his belt
- Cultural award winner of the city of Nuremberg
- Founding member of the music collective FOLK'S WORST NIGHTMARE
- with whom he plans folk-punk shows and events, broadcasts on Radio Z and engages in all kinds of madness
- also makes noise with the bands AVERAGE PIZZA, PETS, ...
- is involved in Nuremberg event series such as SING-IN OPEN MIC SUNDAY, COMIC CAFÉ,...
- author of the novels DER MANN OHNE PIANO and ALLES ARSCHLÖCHER ÜBERALL
