The Cologne-based duo—comprising singer, pianist, and sound designer Franzis Lating, and drummer and sound architect Johannes Elia Nuß—creates live moments that build slowly, draw you in deeply, and linger long after the performance ends.

For the bottomline, jazz isn’t a genre—it’s an attitude. With effortless ease, urban jazz, classical elements, trip-hop, and electronic textures fuse into a sound that floats, pulses, and explodes.

At the center is the voice: intimate, demanding, vulnerable, and powerful all at once. The lyrics revolve around longing, responsibility, connection, and the human condition in a fragile present.

Following their debut album FORGOTTEN STARS—acclaimed by audiences and the press alike—and numerous shows across Germany, the bottomline now present their new live program for their second studio album (releasing in fall 2026), on which they take their sound to a whole new level.
