Miriam Schmidt leads us through the exhibition The Emergence of Sound by sound artist and composer Christina Kubisch (*1948 in Bremen), which she curated.

The Emergence of Sound is both the title and leitmotif of this survey exhibition. It presents sound as a phenomenon that is constantly being formed anew in the arrangement of body, material, signal and movement and can be experienced in their interplay. Sound is always also an action: it visualizes itself in a flexible sensory process that connects the works shown here. The Emergence of Sound brings together selected works from 1975 to 2026 and provides a comprehensive insight into the artist's pioneering work in the field of sound art. The focus is on early performances, electromagnetic research and her participatory approach to her work.
