The Haunted Youth to Perform an Exclusive Club Show in Munich in November

Belgium has produced a new indie rock sensation: Since their debut, The Haunted Youth have been thrilling a steadily growing international audience and are now on tour with their latest album. Behind The Haunted Youth is Joachim Liebens, who writes and produces all the songs himself. He already attracted attention in Belgium and beyond with his first single, “Teen Rebel” (2021). In 2022, The Haunted Youth released “Dawn of the Freak,” an extraordinary debut album—hailed by critics and fans alike—in which Liebens transforms his teenage anxieties into dreamy dream pop sounds. Somewhere between MGMT, Slowdive, and The Cure, The Haunted Youth created a sound all their own, full of nostalgia and emotion. With their long-awaited second album, “Boys Cry Too,” The Haunted Youth took a bold step forward this year, both musically and narratively. Liebens himself describes the album as an “’80s coming-of-age punk rock movie.” Fittingly, the album is divided into two thematic halves: At first, the songs tell the story of a young teenager who, due to heartbreak, is filled with anger, paranoia, and aggression. In the second half, the narrative shifts; emotional walls come down, and the vulnerable side of boys and men comes to the forefront. This more self-assured, mature album seamlessly built on the success of their debut and immediately reached number one on the Belgian album charts. Over the years, The Haunted Youth have also earned an excellent reputation as a live band, which they have impressively demonstrated on major festival stages such as Sziget, Pukkelpop, and the Reeperbahn Festival. Following their completely sold-out headlining tour in April, The Haunted Youth are returning to Germany in November to play an exclusive club concert in Munich. Aside from a performance at the Rolling Stone Beach Festival, this is the only chance to see this electrifying band live here this year.
