Rhythm, rock, piano blues 'n' boogie

Jörg Borghardt is probably one of the best blues'n'boogie pianists of our time. Since 1984, he has performed his art in countless clubs and bars both at home and abroad. Wherever he performs, "Huggy" regularly leaves an enthusiastic audience and astonished critics in his wake. The "piano old master" (Visions) is praised for his brilliant technique and dexterity as well as his blues feeling and the ability to "let the sparks fly". Even in important blues clubs in New York and Chicago, he knew how to hold his own; without any fear of contact, he likes to refine many session evenings with his unique piano playing in the rock-accented blues'n'boogie piano style.

The live album***, which is still very successful internationally, was released in May 2014 via L+R Records and was recorded on the occasion of his official 1000th gig in June 2012 in a trio line-up at subrosa. In various line-ups, the Dortmund native has not only celebrated other stage and private anniversaries with us, he also rocked the small stage with the now quite big name at the opening of the Hafenschänke in July 1993. So it was only logical to invite Huggy back again in 2023 for the 30th subAnniversary, while in April 2024 he played his gig no. 2500 at subrosa and recorded again - this time with the full band...

...as usual, The HUGGY J.B. Allstars LIVE at subrosa were once again "extremely confident and outstanding on the individual instruments" (United Jazz Society) - and it will be the same today when the lively five-piece docks in Dortmund's harbor once again.
