Punk, cineaste, dance rebel: the list of labels that Samir Akika has been given in the course of his life as a choreographer is long. He can smile about some of them himself, others may not be so wrong. Most will agree on his love of storytelling, his deep interest in his protagonists and his courage to constantly reinvent his artistic language. In his works, Samir Akika visits places that defy clear definition, where the familiar appears anew, making the previously unseen visible in secret corners. Always at his side: the Unusual Symptoms ensemble, which fills these places with life. In a new work, Akika and the dancers once again seek out the unknown - and turn the secret into the familiar.
