Dr. M. Lalitha & M. Nandini - The LN Sisters
The internationally acclaimed violinists, composers and music educators Dr. M. Lalitha and M. Nandini - known as the LN Sisters or Violin Sisters - combine the depth of South Indian classical music with the openness of experimental musical forms in their work. As the fourth generation of a family of musicians, they are part of a living tradition that they continue to develop with their own style and innovative technique.
With over twenty releases and performances on major stages worldwide, they are among the outstanding representatives of their field. Their collaborations range from classical Indian masters to international greats from jazz, rock and world music.
As cultural ambassadors of India, they regularly perform at renowned festivals and institutions in Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Australia and have received numerous awards - including the highest music prize of the state of Tamil Nadu, the Kalaimamani Award, as well as international research and funding grants such as the Fulbright Fellowship and the Charles Wallace Trust Fellowship.
In addition to their concert activities, Lalitha and Nandini dedicate themselves to composition, research and teaching. Their projects combine musical tradition, intercultural dialog and artistic innovation - driven by a clear vision: music as a universal language of harmony and encounter.
