THE MUSIC SOUNDS BETTER WITH YOU

WHAT WOULD AN ALBUM COVER, MUSIC VIDEO OR POSTER BE WITHOUT A GOOD DESIGN?

The cover of an album, a music video or the announcement poster are often the very first contact that potential listeners and fans have with musicians - all the more important is what can be seen there: the design.

The exhibition THE MUSIC SOUNDS BETTER WITH YOU shows numerous works (from 1962 to 2023) by designers, photographers, scenographers, filmmakers and publishers from the music industry at four locations in downtown Dortmund with a focus on Dortmund.

The center of the four exhibition venues is the SUPERRAUM, where works by around 45 designers for Dortmund and international artists and institutions can be seen on two floors.

An insight into the extraordinary work of the two large and still very much alive Dortmund magazine publishers VISIONS and ROCKHARD can be gained in HANS A.

The directing duo OH MY (Sebastian Tomczak / Felix Horn) presents excerpts of their directing work for numerous music videos in HANS B.

MY FRIENDS GOT FAMOUS is a photo book by Martin Lamberty about the history of the Cologne band ANNENMAYKANTEREIT through the eyes of a friend. A book about growing up, about life and friendship. He shows a selection of the photographs in the store at OLPE 12B.
