Welcome to a community center in Geelong, Australia. Plastic chairs are carried onto the stage and a public meeting is convened. Four actors wittily discuss problems big and small: what physical touch is considered appropriate, but also the endless therapeutic programs they have to endure as people with disabilities in order to approach some sense of "normality". But the game takes a sudden turn when an artificial intelligence appears and becomes the protagonist. How do we make decisions together that are in the best interests of a democratic society?
With "The Shadow Whose Prey the Hunter Becomes", Back to Back Theatre, the inclusive Australian theater group of world renown (honored with the Ibsen Award, among others), can be experienced in Frankfurt for the first time. What begins as a cunning chamber play becomes a great and moving theatrical event thanks to the scope of its questions and the brilliance of its actors.
