The Tonecooks present their third album at Strom - for the first time and exclusively in cooperation with the choir collective Brustkiste!
The new album by the five Munich-based band promises an effervescent mix of upbeat indie, danceable surf rock and anachronistic retro synthpop. They have taken three years to serve up experiments, fancy sounds and odd rhythms alongside hit-worthy specialties from the tried-and-tested Tonecooks recipe book. Their release concert promises a precise dosage of ecstasy, emotion and plenty of warmth.
The collaboration with the all-female band Brustkiste is a world premiere. Their repertoire cannot be pigeonholed into one genre, but is versatile and shimmers in all musical colors. The fusion of voices and minimalist instrumentals is what ultimately defines Brustkiste. The 7-piece choir collective will accompany the Tonecooks' songs - the indie band will also venture into material by the musicians, ranging from their own songs to Spanish folk and soul classics.
