The Vampires live at Honigfabrik Hamburg

Described by The Guardian as "seductive, genre-hopping creativity" and Downbeat magazine as "worldly, talented",The Vampires are made up of four of Australia's most awarded jazz instrumentalists.

With risk-taking improvisations, sophisticated compositions and an uncanny knack for dialog between the front lines of saxophone and trumpet, the band has developed a style that effortlessly blends influences from all corners of the globe.

In 2016, the band released an album together with guitarist Lionel Loueke. Celebrated with a completely sold-out tour, as well as in the media, the band now presents their new album "Pacifica". More than ever, sounds from different continents and different contexts are combined here and allow the special sound of this exceptional band to emerge.

Saxophonist Jeremy Rose, trumpeter Nick Garbett, bassist Alex Boneham and drummer Alex Masso have already released six albums with the Vampires and have been touring tirelessly together through Australia, Europe and the UK since 2005.

Highlights have included a completely sold out tour with guitarist Lionel Loueke, appearances at the Edinburgh and Glasgow Jazz Festivals, A Love Supreme Festival and Pizza Express Jazz Club (London), as well as Australia's major jazz festivals including the Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane International Jazz Festivals and the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues.

The band recently became the first ever instrumental group to be nominated for the Australian Music Prize.
