Theaternacht: Wir bauen ein Luftschloss (ab 5 Jahre)

On Theater Night, we want to celebrate the premiere with you and build a castle in the air together outside on the Children’s Rights Plaza.
We need air to breathe. Air is always around us. It’s created collectively by all living things on Earth and carried to us as wind. Air is precious. Yet we often forget about it. The climate crisis is a crisis of air. So that we don’t forget it again, let’s build a castle in the air together. An air castle to celebrate the air. But how? By reducing CO₂ emissions and flying acrobatically through the air! With wind and scent and clouds and the breath of the trees! With parachutes, swim rings, fog machines, and helium balloons! With the micro-creatures that live in the air—which you can search for in our augmented reality.
Many artists have already come up with ideas for this. We’ll incorporate them into our castle in the air and become air artists ourselves.
You’re all invited to help build it for the season opener!

We’ll also take you on small-group tours through the theater and behind the scenes. Discover the curiosities of our props and take a look inside our workshop and dressing rooms. You’ll find that the theater is much more spacious than it seems.

The “Luftschloss” was developed by children, artists, and scientists: Sibylle Peters, Matthias Anton, Idgie Groffmann, Felix Jung, Nils Löfke, Ines Moreno, Julia Münz, Lydia Schulze Heuling, Florian Tampe, Margaux Weiß, Christopher Weymann, and students from IVK classes 5–7 at the Louise-Weiss-Gymnasium. “Luftschloss” was funded by the Edmund Siemers Foundation.
