Forschungswerkstatt On AIR
In the organizer's words:
As part of the artistic research project “We’re Building a Castle in the Air,” exciting artists, curators, and scholars are coming together for a research workshop at the FUNDUS THEATER. We are very pleased to welcome three very special guests: Joanna Warsza, Zoe Laughlin, and Lydia Schulze Heuling.
Joanna Warsza is the City Curator of Hamburg. Her exhibition series “From the Cosmos to the Commons” will focus on the element of air next year.
Zoe Laughlin is co-founder and director of the Institute of Making at University College London (UCL) and is an expert on air and wind as material agents.
Lydia Schulze Heuling is a professor of physics education. She takes us on a journey through the history of knowledge: How has our understanding of air
changed over time?
Together, we’ll visit the “Luftschloss” on Children’s Rights Square, experience artistic works and performances centered on the theme of air, and discuss how air connects us to all living beings on Earth. How can we develop a cross-generational art of air that allows us to experience this connection in new ways? Artists, educators, teachers, researchers, and dreamers are warmly invited to the research workshop!
The event will be held partly in English.
Supported by the Edmund Siemers Foundation. We thank Budnianer Hilfe for their support.
