THEATRON 2024: CARO KELLEY, LUKA BLAU + FENNEL & FRIENDS

The cozy atmosphere and Free admission to the THEATRON MUSIKSOMMER has been attracting numerous visitors to the Seebühne stage in the Olympic Park for years. And the Feierwerk will once again be there for six days in August with a varied live program. So pack your picnic blankets and enjoy the concerts on the steps in front of the Olympic Lake. You'll have the best view of the stage. You can relax and unpack your snack or enjoy the food from the many stalls on the grounds. We look forward to seeing you!

The acts

CARO KELLEY

CARO KELLEY is a German-American singer and pianist from Munich. Caro is known for her vocal improvisations and skillful harmonies as well as her impressive stage presence. A trained jazz singer and classical pianist, Caro's music is genre-bending, combining jazzy vocals with lively pop songs and an indie rock attitude. Caro released her debut album "Playroom" in 2022 with the support of Initiative Musik. In December 2022, "Playroom" went on to win five awards at the German Rock & Pop Prize 2022, including "Best Pop Singer", "Best Pop Album" and "Song of the Year". In 2024, she began collaborating with Munich-based musician and composer Fabian Muschelknautz and released the single "Hung Up On You", which will be followed by an EP. CARO KELLEY is constantly present in the Munich music scene as a songwriter and performer.
Caro and her 7-piece soul-pop band, the "Caro Kelley Band", performed at the Long Night of Music, Augsburg Jazz Mainacht, StuStaCulum, Munich Sessions Summer Fest, Munich Rocks and Tollwood in 2023. With two keyboards, bass, guitar, drums, trumpet and backing vocals, they have been praised for their tight arrangements and big pop sound and have built up a strong fan base in Munich. In October 2023 CARO KELLEY took part in the Wombeats Grand Jam Tour through Europe and performed solo in Budapest, Vienna and London.

LUKA BLAU

The up-and-coming Munich singer-songwriter LUKA B LAU released his debut album "Bisschen Beides" in April 2024. His songs go far beyond the usual genre boundaries and are dedicated to topics such as the fast pace of life, egocentrism, homelessness and powerlessness in times of war. But his songs also tell of the small wonders of life and, of course, love. Despite the gravity of the subject matter, one thing above all is celebrated: life, with everything that goes with it. Starting out as a solo project, LUKA BLAU now prefers to perform with a live band. Betty Akhigbe (bass, vocals), Maximilian Kremser (keys), Vincent Crusius (drums) and Mayso Schindele (trombone) then transform the acoustic singer-songwriter music into a pop sound that is both modern and yet far removed from the mainstream. FENNEL & FRIENDS

A healthy mix of love, vulnerability and exuberance: the music of the newcomer band FENNEL & FRIENDS feels like a familiar embrace: a gentle, soulful voice, whose pull is hard to escape, merges with warm harmonies, framed by acoustic and electronic elements.

Her lyrics deal with topics such as friendship, social anxieties and growing up. Ines (bass/backing vocals), Leon (vocals/guitar) and Quirin (guitar/keys) succeed in creating a connection through their music and capturing the emotions of the listeners. The three musicians have enjoyed a deep friendship for 14 years. After numerous campfire jam sessions, the tried and tested cover repertoire was no longer enough for the three of them: with their own songs, they quickly demonstrated their potential at several support gigs and open air concerts. In the fall of 2023, FENNEL & FRIENDS released their first self-produced single called "Summer Nights". The song landed directly on a Spotify editorial playlist and has since been streamed more than 20 thousand times - a clear sign of the infectious energy and quality of their music. (Source: Bandinfo)
