Albums are like a whole world that you can immerse yourself in. And everyone has at least one absolute favorite album. Or even a whole collection of favorite records. Miguel Passarge is no exception. Once a year, the music planner at the zakk cultural center shines the spotlight on special albums in pop history and the people behind them at the Lieblingsplatte Festival. Artists are given the opportunity to devote themselves entirely to their own work. It is not uncommon to experience unique performances that touch fans and performers in a very special way This festival is more than the sum of its parts.

The documentary delves into the history of the Düsseldorf festival with interviews, concert recordings and a tour of the city's legendary pop venues, meets the people behind the scenes and lets the performing musicians talk about their very personal thoughts on their shows at Lieblingsplatte.
