CELEBRATING 20 YEARS 2025

The sound of the US band founded in 2005 around guitarists and main protagonists Jeremy Galindo and Chris King does not need vocals to immediately cast a spell over its listeners: Their monumental soundscapes develop a tremendous dynamic which, together with the epic arrangements, seems like a large-scale soundtrack. These qualities place the Texans stylistically close to similarly minded bands such as Godspeed You!, Black Emperor, Explosions In The Sky or Mogwai. The songs by the quartet from San Marcos, Texas, have always had cinematic characteristics: they creep up subtly at first, only to rapidly increase in dynamics, complexity and heaviness as they progress. The purely instrumental compositions are far removed from the classic rock format and leave plenty of room for monumental soundscapes and sprawling arrangements. It is therefore no coincidence that their music can not only be heard in many feature films or series, but has also been used at major sporting events such as the Super Bowl. Hollywood icon Brad Pitt and director Bennett Miller are big fans of the band, which is why they have already included This Will Destroy You tracks in films such as 'Moneyball' and 'World War Z'. Their ever-growing international fanbase now includes many prominent names, including Robert Smith, who personally invited This Will Destroy You to open the Hyde Park show in 2018 to mark the 40th anniversary of The Cure. Live, the band's sound universe expands to include a physical component that leaves their audience with no choice but to be swept away.
