There are bands that write songs. And then there are bands like This Will Destroy You—groups that create sonic spaces where time, gravity, and certainties seem to be suspended. On August 6, 2026, the Texas-based post-rock collective returns to Bahnhof Langendreer in Bochum—with a program that pays tribute to two of their most influential works in their entirety: *Young Mountain* and *Another Language*.
Young Mountain once marked the moment when instrumental rock music came back to life. Expansive guitar textures, delicate melodic arcs, and explosive shifts in dynamics created a debut that remains to this day a blueprint for an entire generation of post-rock bands. Years later, with *Another Language*, the band underwent an aesthetic shift: darker, denser, and more electronically defined.
