Thomas Freitag - Rückzug über die Minen der Ebene
In the organizer's words:
Thomas Freitag is bringing his new show to a close.
For Thomas, a child of the postwar era, his once-cherished dreams of the future have since turned into nightmares—and the anger this stirs in him does not leave him unmoved. With his immense acting talent, his experience, and his age, he takes the audience by the hand and leads them on his “retreat across the mines of the plain.”
When he acts like a monkey in a Kafkaesque manner, it’s only because he wants to confront the seriousness of life with the cheerfulness of art.
He exposes the human hubris of believing oneself to be fundamentally superior to animals. Humans aren’t pathetic creatures just because they can’t cope with digital achievements, AI, addictive substances, wealth, and honor. Yet it is they who immediately follow every positive achievement with abuse—no animal would ever do such a thing.
So some people get their heads washed out once again. But not their brains, because there, it seems, others have already done a thorough job.
And since Thomas Freitag’s parodies are legendary, the bigwigs from heaven naturally weigh in as well—after all, they suffer the most from the current ground crew. So anyone who wants to experience this magnificent master of disguise once again shouldn’t miss this show.
