In 1979, a group of young filmmakers set off for a remote farm in the middle of nowhere to finally shoot the movie that will help them make their breakthrough - a porno. But when the secluded farm owners get onto the trail of their guests' activities, the creative trip turns into a fight to the death...

"Horror filmmaker Ti West ("The Hous of the Devil") directs a blood-soaked ode to '70s grindhouse cinema with sex, drugs, and the worst B'n'B ever. It's 1979, and a group of amorous filmmakers set out to a secluded boarding house in rural Texas to make a high-class smut movie. As the camera rolls and the clothes come off, their elderly hosts begin to show some increasingly voyeuristic and violent tendencies. Buckle up, because there's plenty of twists and turns in this goddamn, f*#%ed-up horror picture.
Although filmed in New Zealand, X perfectly captures the isolation of its pastoral Texas setting. This gore-filled slasher from A24 pays equal tribute to horror classics like "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", '70s smut like "Deep Throat", and countless films that start with a stop at a creepy gas station."
