Kai Peter is a janitor at his son's school - the same one he once attended himself. He returns to his old home with his wife Meli and son Silas. Everything seems perfect: a secure job, a loving family, and Silas, his son and a promising kickboxer who is following in his footsteps. But Kai feels an inner restlessness. He takes comedy lessons to give his life a new lease of life. A visit to a former children's home opens up old wounds, and an encounter with Klaus, a former colleague, confronts him with paths from the past that he didn't want to go down.
