Mark Renton is all down and mostly high. Every day, the Scotsman shoots up, pulls one off, or takes narcotic pills. Always with him - his junkie friends Spud, Sick Boy, Begbie and Tommy. For the clique, daily drug use is a natural part of life. But when one of them goes to jail and another has to go through a forced withdrawal, Mark starts to wonder. Maybe it would be better to be clean and live a sane life after all? The makers of "Little Murders Among Friends" - director Danny Boyle, screenwriter John Hodge and producer Andrew Macdonald - have created a veritable cult film with their second production. Their inspiring mixture of effective visual compositions, an atmospheric soundtrack and frighteningly direct dialogues conveys a youthful attitude to life like hardly any other film in recent years.
