TREELINE | aus der Konzertreihe von GRAHAM FITKIN | 26.06.26
In the organizer's words:
What does a tree actually sound like? And what stories lie hidden in Europe’s forests?
With TreeLine, British composer and pianist Graham Fitkin is bringing an extraordinary art project to Leipzig. On a 4,000-kilometer bike tour from Romania to Great Britain, he follows the trail of Europe’s last primeval forests. At each stop, he collaborates with local communities, capturing sounds—even from inside trees —and transforming them into a unique concert composition.
On June 26, 2026, TreeLine will make a stop at the Glasfabrik Leipzig. Starting at 4 p.m., the storytelling café “The Power of Trees” invites you to share personal memories and stories about nature: What role have trees played in your life? Did you have a favorite tree, a place of comfort, or a quiet companion through special phases of your life? Free admission to the storytelling café is available.
At 6 p.m., the highlight of the evening begins: Graham Fitkin’s fascinating TreeLine concert, where piano music meets field recordings, the sounds of trees, and the stories of European landscapes. Afterward, there will be time for conversation, exchange, and connection.
An evening blending concert, nature experience, and questions about the future—for everyone who doesn’t just want to see trees, but also wants to listen to them for once.
